IPL final shift has 'nothing to do with MLA tickets': Shivakumar

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said the IPL 2026 final’s shift from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad had “nothing to do with MLA tickets”. Responding to speculation, he said the decision was likely based on Ahmedabad’s larger stadium capacity and dismissed political links amid the ongoing controversy over the venue change.

Overall, such chases have occurred only 13 times in IPL history, highlighting the season’s high-scoring trend. KSCA alleges no clarity from BCCI on IPL final venue shift
