Extra security withdrawn, Z+ cover intact: WB DGP on Mamata, Abhishek's security

Woman IPS officer goes undercover past midnight in Hyd, 40 men approach her in 3 hrs

A senior woman IPS officer and a Police Commissioner in Hyderabad's Malkajgiri, Sumathi, went undercover at a bus stand between 12:30 AM and 3:30 AM without police presence. In three hours, she was approached by nearly 40 men, most of whom appeared drunk. Police called them for counselling sessions and warned them about their behaviour towards women in public places.



Ban on bilateral sports with Pakistan to continue, multi-national events exempted: Govt

The Sports Ministry on Wednesday said the blanket ban on bilateral sporting ties with Pakistan that was imposed last year will remain in force. The government, however, added that athletes from across the border will not be stopped from coming here for multi-lateral events. The policy was first announced last year in August.



2 killed, 200 FIRs filed & 433 people held in post-poll violence in WB

West Bengal Director General of Police (DGP) Siddh Nath Gupta, while speaking about post-poll violence in the state, said, "More than 200 FIRs have been registered so far, with 433 people arrested in specific cases." Stating that two deaths were reported from Nanoor and New Town, he added that over 1,100 individuals have been detained under preventive provisions.



Vijay asked to show support of 118 MLAs and not 112 by Tamil Nadu Governor: Reports
