After Congress ended its 55-year-old alliance with DMK and extended support to TVK’s Vijay to form a new Tamil Nadu government, DMK leader Kanimozhi said allies have the right to decide what they think is right. "We've won many elections together…I don't have anything to say about others, but of course we will continue our fight," she said.
Actor Rajinikanth met DMK chief MK Stalin after the party lost to TVK in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. A Moneycontrol report said Rajinikanth used the visit to express solidarity with Stalin. Stalin also lost his constituency to TVK candidate VS Babu by nearly 8,700 votes. Rajinikanth had earlier congratulated Vijay for his "resounding victory" in the elections.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said his party ended the contract with political consultant I-PAC due to lack of funds. "Yes, we had an association. They worked with us for a few months, but we're not able to continue because we do not have that kind of funding," Yadav said. I-PAC worked with TMC and DMK in recent state assembly polls.
BJP Chief Spokesperson Debjit Sarkar said that those associated with the TMC who have been involved in atrocities, unlawful activities, or intimidation cannot seek refuge in BJP to escape accountability. "No individual can become a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party through self-declaration," he added. Unless the party accepts you, you cannot claim to be a BJP member, he said.
